I primarily work with Milennial and Gen Z creatives, artists, and LGBTQ+ folx who are ready to go further and deeper on their journey of self-development, awareness, and personal integration. I want to help you rediscover the most authentic and healthy version of you, learn to communicate and express your thoughts and feelings freely, but assertively, and stay true to yourself, so that you can thrive in your life and relationships.
On the surface it probably looks like you have it mostly together, but inside you might be feeling anxious and overwhelmed, uninspired, or even depressed. You may be feeling fed up with lack of motivation or fulfillment, or want to have healthier relationships, but it seems like you keep running into the same frustrating issues over and over again. You want to heal old pain that is holding you back, and change relationship patterns with yourself and others that haven’t been working. We will collaborate to explore the unconscious forces at play that are effecting you in the present moment, and address matters of the mind, body, and spirit.
As your therapist, my goal is to keep it real with you, and help you bring to light those sneaky unconscious parts of the self that have been hiding in the shadows, getting in the way of you being the most authentic version of yourself. This involves a process of gaining awareness of your programming from early childhood experiences, processing and healing traumas or old emotional wounds that are keeping you stuck, and developing a deeper understanding of yourself, why you are the way you are, and remembering why that person is pretty cool actually!

The way therapy plays out in the room will be tailored to you and your unique needs. As we get to know each other, we will work together to identify the ways in which your old and family and relational dynamics may be affecting you now, while also learning how to cope in the present moment in healthier ways, incorporating new ways of thinking, fresh perspectives, mindfulness, integrating spirituality (only if spirituality is helpful and relevant for you), and having some laughs along the way. I am an LGBTQIA affirmative and inclusive therapist. I take into account your personal world view, including but not limited to your culture, race/ethnicity, sexuality & gender expression, and spirituality/religion (or lack thereof). I’m a firm believer that expressing yourself fully through humor, laughter, and cursing (if that’s your thing), as well as through tears and serious self-reflective moments, is all healthy and crucial to the journey of healing. Therapy is a place for you to take time for yourself and process what’s going on in your life now and up until this point, and each week may be different depending on where you are at. Whether that means it’s time to be serious and process and cry; or be joyful and grateful for a great week; or to be quiet, contemplative and reflective; or fired up and tossing your fist at the sky, it’s all welcome. It’s YOUR time.

I have years of experience working with individuals of all ages from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, with a range of socioeconomic experiences, who have come to therapy with presenting issues such as generalized or social anxiety, malaise or depression, spiritual issues and confusion, unhealthy or challenging relationships, unresolved anger, myriad types of grief, codependency, and many other life challenges. I have worked with many adults and families from both underprivileged and privileged backgrounds.
